As you may or may not be aware, I am
tabbyphobos, or Tabby Phobos. You may remember me from such places such as Fandom Wank, the Martian Successor Nadesico fandom as the chick that gays up the crew, or by the really sick and creepy fic I wrote for the Final Fantasy X-2 fandom. If you don't know me at all, never mind all that, because this journal will have nothing to do with all of that.
That, my friends, is because this journal is to be my Sims 2 journal. I have a great love of reading Sims 2 stories, so I decided to make a journal of my own and write my own stories. This journal will exclusively hold my Sims 2 stories, nothing else. If you want to see me personally, please visit my real journal.
Before I talk about how I play and how this will work out, I would first like to say that I have nothing against homosexuality, heterosexuality, bisexuality, distant incest (kid of one cousin and kid of another cousin not recognizing each other as family), alien pregnancy, polygamy, or Maxis families in Sims 2. In fact, you may find that I rather play them up, actually. I also tend to be vulgar, so speaking parts, if I have them, may have not-nice words. Beyond that, I will stick to the Sims terms for things, such as WooHooing and the like.
As for my writing, I try to make it as interesting and well-written as I can. I'm not a big fan of uploading pictures, so there may not be as many pictures as you'd like to see. It's not that I'm going to only have three pictures for a huge post, but I will not have a picture and a one-line caption. There will be more writing than pictures as I find uploading extremely tedious. Deal.
Gameplay
I play all three neighborhoods and stick with Maxis families, mostly. Occasionally I may go into some of the Townies, but probably only after they join up with a Maxis family. I have University, and have set Sim State University as Pleasantview's college, La Fiesta Tech as Strangetown's college, and Academie Le Tour as Veronaville's college.
I actually don't have any Sims that I myself created. I've played my own Sims along with the Maxis ones in the past and have found that they seem to mess up the Maxis family dynamic, so I don't play them. I will, however, do my best to play each house equally. You may find that I may spend more time at houses with larger families, such as the Goths, the Grunts, the Curiouses, or the Capps. I do my best to keep everyone in the same age bracket and aging accordingly.
I do use a few hacks, but usually only ones that fix problems I've found or things that are meant to happen that drive me nuts, such as the gardener's being lazy and/or thieves, or how Townie children don't grow up. For instance, my gardeners will come everyday, I can have teenagers ask children and other teenagers to move in, and I have the InSimenator, which is a nifty little tool on it's own.
The stories I post here, on the other hand, aren't going to be filled to the brim with plot, though I will do my best to make everything as interesting as I can. Sims 2 is a simulated life game, and I play it as such. Think of this as more of a reality TV show, or what reality TV should be like. I play all of my sims to their aspirations, so if Pollination Tech #9 Smith wants his daughter Chloe Singles to get married even though she doesn't want to, by God, she's gettin' married, even if she does have several lovers on the side.

Lucky for me, LJ came up with the tag system, so I don't have to muck around with memories. Every post will have a tag. "PSA" means something like this, or a sad and pathetic excuse for not updating. The name of a neighborhood indicates what neighborhoods are featured in the post. As for family names... this is another story.
Tags will feature surnames, such as Brokes, Goths, Capps, Montys, and Smiths, to indicate what family it is. But as we all know, things happen where people's last name changes, such as marriage, adoption, or joined unions. When someone's last name changes, I will put a note at the end of a part. For example, "Don Lothario, upon marrying Cassandra Goth, is now known as Don Goth. He will now be under Goths." This is useful if a household, such as in college, have people with different surnames. If the household name is completely different from the surname, that person will be under their own surname. For example, Jonah Powers will be under the Powers tag, not the Sharpe tag, even though he lives in the Sharpe household. Get it?
Well, if there's anything else you'd like to know, feel free to ask me.
